Last month, our Perth office proudly hosted the Hall Chadwick Managers Conference, bringing together leaders from across our network for two days of connection, collaboration and professional development. The event provided a valuable opportunity to strengthen relationships, share insights and align on the future of our profession.

Welcome & Networking

Attendees were welcomed to Perth with drinks at the iconic Subiaco Hotel, a historic venue in the heart of Subiaco, just moments from the Hall Chadwick office. The evening provided an opportunity to connect, network and ease into the conference ahead.

Conference Program & Insights

The conference commenced on Friday with a full-day program featuring speakers across a diverse range of topics relevant to today’s accounting and advisory landscape.

Rick Hopkins, Director at Hall Chadwick WA, opened the day by welcoming attendees and setting the tone for the program ahead.

Aaron Goile and Jackson Bryant from CT Group, a leading ICT partner to professional services firms, kicked off the conference with a discussion on artificial intelligence. They explored its current applications, future direction and the evolving cybersecurity landscape, alongside practical recommendations for implementation.

Aaron McDonald, Founder of Pragma Lawyers, followed with practical legal insights to support accounting practices, drawn from his experience advising businesses and navigating dispute resolution.

After morning tea, Rohan Barraclough, Founding Director of Ironstate Capital Partners, presented a case study on partnering with early-stage clients, offering a fund manager’s perspective informed by his experience as a commercial real estate private credit investment manager.

Kirrilly Waring of Hall Chadwick Sydney, a Chartered Accountant with extensive experience in valuations and forensic accounting, followed with a practical session on Valuations training.

Accountancy Insurance, a provider of protection solutions for accounting professionals, delivered an update on ATO claims activity, a partnership update, and best-practice insights on Audit Shield.

Paul Tottle, former Supreme Court judge of Western Australia, then offered a “view from the bench”, drawing on his judicial experience to outline how and when to engage with the court system.

The program concluded with Nathan McIvor, CEO of Djarindjin Aboriginal Corporation, who shared The Djarindjin Story, highlighting initiatives focused on self-determination, sustainable development and economic independence.

Kings Park Experience

Following the conference, attendees walked from the Hall Chadwick office through Kings Park to take part in a Welcome to Country and cultural experience led by a local guide. The session featured storytelling, song and insights into the history and significance of the area, along with an interactive Q&A.

Closing Dinner

The day concluded with dinner at Fraser’s Restaurant. Located within Kings Park, Fraser’s Restaurant offers refined dining and sweeping views over the Swan River in a relaxed setting to network and unwind.
